Ever since I seen my friend Jessica's adorable blog I have been slowing trying to create my own. I think it will be a good way to give some updates about our lives to our friends and family.
So, I will start my first post off by updating everyone on each of us along with a few random things going on. I do plan to brag alittle on my two guys so you might as well get use to it :) This very first post will be LONG, but I promise the future posts will be short and sweet.
For those of you that already know Jason, AKA "Moo Cow" you can skip down to the last two sentences in this paragraph. Everything else you probably already know about him.
Now for those of you that don't know Jason (my boyfriend of 3 1/2 yrs) I want to brag about him just a little. He was born and raised in LaGrange just as I was. He was raised up in the country by a good family surrounded by farm animals and farm work. Being a country boy definitely taught him the true values of life. He is the kindest man you will ever meet and has a huge heart. Logan and I are blessed to have such a good man in our lives.
Jason graduated high school from LG in 94' and began taking some college courses at Blinn in Brenham. In 97' he decided to join the Navy. While on active duty he was enrolled in different schools in California, Mexico, Costa Rica, and San Angelo, TX majoring in Cryptologic Technician Interpretive/Spanish. Jason was Honorably discharged from the Navy in 2003 after serving 6 yrs. He is now officially once again a college student and will soon be receiving his Bachelor's Degree w/ a major in World Language and Literature. He hopes to be teaching high school Spanish by next fall.As for myself, I am still a Listed Family Home with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and take care of children in our home. Basically, I have a day care in our home, but currently am only taking care of one baby due to the medical problems that I have had over the last year. Most of you know I had 3 surgeries since last September and I am scheduled for a 4th and final surgery on November 25th. I am praying that this 4th surgery will solve all problems and my Doctor has reassured me that it will. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I plan on returning to school as well. As soon as Jason is finished with his schooling I will start setting things up to begin mine.
Now an update about the main little man in the family.....Logan is still at Sacred Heart School and is now in the 1st grade. Things were a little rough the first 3 weeks, but now Logan is doing great.
He is just super social like his Mommy and had to learn when the appropriate time to talk was. But like I said; he is doing great now especially with his school work. He is a really smart kiddo!! Logan has also been racking up on the bucks lately! My parents told Logan that they would give him a dollar if he made a hundred on his spellings tests. He has made 5 one hundred and five's (because of the bonus word) out of 6 spelling tests since school started and was sneaky and smart when collecting his money. He made BOTH his MiMi and his PaPa pay up after each test. And recently Logan began taking Math tests and has made 100's on both tests so far.....so he suckered MiMi and PaPa out of more dollars. He is set on making many more 100's and 105's. He says he is going to try to empty MiMi and PaPa's wallets!!!It was Logan's first year creating a fire poster for the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Logan worked super hard and did a great job on his poster. I must say he is quite the little artist. The fire poster's were turned in last Friday Oct 3rd and I'm not sure when the judging will take place, but whatever he scores he made 1st place in my books!! Below is a picture of what an awesome job he did.
To the right are two pictures of the baby I keep. Some of you might remember my friend of 10+ yrs and Logan's God-Mother Jessica Bertsch Janacek. Well, this is her baby girl Ella. I've been taking care of her since she was 3 months old and she is a big part of our lives. We all just adore her! Logan especially loves Ella. He calls her "pretty girl" and if you could hear the way he says it you'd agree that it is the cutest darn thing ever! It's hard to believe that little miss Ella Bella will be 1 yr old next Friday on the 17th. Where does the time go?
My Grandma Docekal (90 yrs old) has been in the nursing home now for a few months. She is doing really good and has acquired such a "HUMOROUS" personality since moving into Care Inn Nursing Home. I try to visit her as often as possible.
I go to her house everyday to feed her dog and since Care Inn isn't too far away... Ella and I usually walk over there to visit her. It's a good way for me to get a little extra exercise and Ella enjoys the ride in the stroller. The little stinker hums the whole way cause she likes the way the vibration makes her voice sound. I also try to take Logan to see Grandma as much as possible. She just loves her Logan!This past Saturday Oct. 4th..... Jason, Logan, and I spent alot of time in the country in Rabbs Prairie riding on the gator, looking for cow skulls, fishing in the tanks, and just prowling around the river. Logan was driving Mommy and Jason around on the gator for awhile and I must say that he's a good little driver!
I just can't believe my baby is that big already :( The first picture here shows Logan trying to catch that big bass that kept biting his line and the next pic shows Logan's first experience with "Cactus in the Hand!!" Ouch!! He was trying to pick the cactus out, but then Jason told Logan that when he was a boy that he would just take his hands and rub them real hard on his jeans till the cactus needles grinded down. That's exactly what Logan did. I think that's when the old saying "A country boy can survive" comes in!On Sunday Oct. 5th, Jason had to work so Logan and I went down to the river to do some more fishing. Logan ended up having a really BIG catch. He caught an alligator gar that was about 3ft long. The darn thing almost pulled Logan right in the water so Mommy had to take over, but as soon as I had it at the bank it broke the line. I was kinda glad. That thing freaked me out, but Logan of course thought it was the neatest thing ever!! Every Monday in school the kiddo's have to write and draw about what they did over the weekend. Logan said he made his paper about the gar. I'm anxious to see what he wrote and the picture he drew. I just might have to frame it!
I guess I will go ahead and rap this first post up now. I will try to update this blog soon. Probably after miss Ella's Birthday party. Until then, I will continue to be on the hunt for Logan's Halloween costume. This year Logan wants to be a "Red Power Ranger" w/ a mask and all. If you know Logan, then you'll understand when I say Logan wanting to wear a mask on his face is a "Major Shocker!!!" Logan has always been scared of Halloween and terrified about the thought of a mask on his face. So since he is ready for a mask I'm going to make sure to find him that perfect "Red Power Ranger" costume!
